Preparing a hole for the eggs.

The turtle was digging very patiently, using its rear legs with its big claws to scrach the ground and dig out the soil. In the position it was the turtle could not see what it did. Everything was it did followed its instinct. The base of the tail has the egg inside and is thick now. This photo is taken only ten seconds before the first egg came out.
